I was born in Salerno (Italy) in 1967, I live and work in Italy, and I have been involved in design since 1991. Since 2009, I have been self-producing my designs. For my projects and products, I prefer using natural materials and artisanal manufacturing techniques. I entrust my products to Italian artisans who have been working for several generations with expertise and passion. I have written about self-produced design in two Italian newspapers (Il Mattino and Corriere della Sera). I also directed an online magazine dedicated to self-produced design (Design Artigianale). For several years, I have been committed to promoting Italian ingenuity. We are especially appreciated by designers and artisans who perpetuate the tradition of Italian style worldwide.
I also embrace technology; in fact, I chose Bentley Systems' Microstation software for my projects back in 1991, and it remains a vital functional tool that I use for development. Furthermore, I am a Bentley Systems certifier in training for three-dimensional mathematical modeling (Certificate No. 5123648, issued on 04/22/1997 by Bentley Systems). My workflow planning strategy is based on the Theory of Constraints rooted in Deming's work, developed by Goldratt, and enhanced by Dettmer. For designing, I utilize Sintagmazione, which combines TOC and triangular matrices.
The attention to craft activities as well as more advanced technologies allows the designer to produce prototypes with traditional materials and technologies. I have perfected my design skills through handicraft. Handicraft allows one to fully understand the strength of the material. The blend of tradition and innovation is my main strength.
The role of the designer is to raise awareness among companies and design interventions geared to the specific needs of each reality, seeking, where possible, to determine and together reach specific goals by providing targeted services. Therefore, thinking in terms of identifying critical areas of improvement and planning dedicated initiatives appears to be a reliable mode of intervention that proves successful every single time.
